Shiraz Cottage Terms & Conditions -
Guests will be asked to sign a contract agreeing to these terms prior to rental.
1. We must receive full payment in advance (and have it cleared through the bank) before our agent is able to give the keys to you.
2. Check in time is from 3.00pm - please phone our Property Manager to arrange your check in time - their contact details will be given to you on booking.
3. Check out time is no later than 10.00am unless by prior arrangement. Late check out may result in a fee of R200 per hour.
4. The number of persons using the cottage must not exceed the number of guests stated on the booking form. For bookings of 2 people or less, linen for one bedroom only will be available unless by prior arrangement. For any extra guest, we charge R450 per night and for extra bedding we charge R75 per set.
5. The owners of the cottage or our agent are to be allowed access to the property at any reasonable time with reasonable notice during any holiday occupancy.
6. Use of the premises, including use of the swimming pool, is entirely at guests' own risk. Please note: The pool is not covered, and guests with children are advised that they - and not the owners or their agents - are responsible for ensuring the safety of children in or around the pool. The owners and their agents accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of the rest of the premises by the guests.
7. Please do not use glass or glass bottles in or around the swimming pool. Please do not remove the pool cleaning appliance ("barracuda") from the pool or the motor will burn out - the barracuda is designed to stay in the pool permanently and is completely safe.
8. The guests agree to keep the property and contents in the same state of repair and condition and to leave the premises in the same state of general order in which it was found. The guests agree to pay for any repairs/cleaning/replacement cost or unreasonable untidiness.
9. Please don’t use bathroom towels by the pool, please use the pool towels provided.
10. A keys/ breakages/damages deposit in cash or cheque of R3,000 for the house or R1,000 for the apartment, (or R4,000 where house and apartment are booked together) will be retained by our agent on arrival, refundable on departure, less any charges.
11. Smoking is not permitted in the house under any circumstances. If you smoke anywhere indoors, you a) forfeit your damages deposit, b) our agent may charge you an additional fee for cleaning and c) our agents may require you to vacate the property before the end of your stay. You will remain liable for the full cost of your stay and no refund will be paid.
12. Any charges relating to breach of the above conditions by the guests will be deducted from the deposit as in 9 above.
13. House guests are required to activate the security system when leaving the house unoccupied during the day or evening. For routine security, we advise that when you are in the garden you do not leave the front door of the house unlocked.
14. Booking is subject to cancellation terms - if you cancel...
less than 7 days before your arrival, you forfeit 100% of your total accommodation value
less than 14 days before your arrival, you forfeit 75% of your total accommodation value
less than 21 days before your arrival, you forfeit 50% of your total accommodation value
less than 28 days before your arrival, you forfeit 25% of your total accommodation value
more than 29 days before your arrival, you forfeit 0% of your total accommodation value
In the event of a cancellation, refunds are subject to the discretionary deduction of any credit card charges and/or booking commissions incurred by Shiraz Cottage.
